On July 1, 2025, Xerox completed its acquisition of Lexmark. The two brands now sit under one owner. If you buy printers in Metro Vancouver, you still choose a machine for the work. Service and supplies continuity matters more than the headline.
What closed
Xerox’s newsroom release says Xerox Holdings Corporation completed its acquisition of Lexmark International, Inc. on July 1, 2025. The sellers named in that release were Ninestar Corporation, PAG Asia Capital, and Shanghai Shouda Investment Centre.
Xerox said the transaction was valued at $1.5 billion, inclusive of net debt and assumed liabilities. It was an acquisition. The close release did not say any product line was being discontinued.
Allen Waugerman stepped down as Lexmark president and chief executive officer at the close. The same release said Steve Bandrowczak would remain CEO of Xerox, with an executive team made up of Xerox and Lexmark leaders.
What Xerox said about the numbers
Xerox said it expected the deal to be accretive to 2025 adjusted earnings per share and free cash flow. It also expected about $240 million of cost synergies. Those figures are Xerox’s expectations in the close release. They are not a promise about your service contract or your toner price.
What it means in Metro Vancouver
One owner does not mean one machine. A buyer still picks the device for the work: volume, paper size, colour, scanning, and who shows up when it stops. The parent company is not the specification.
The close release did not announce that models were going away. Do not retire a working Xerox or Lexmark fleet because of this headline. Ask first whether service coverage and supplies stay in place.
Automation One is an authorized Xerox dealer and an authorized Lexmark dealer in Vancouver. Our Vancouver and Burnaby pages both list those brands. If a machine is already on your floor, the useful call is about service and supplies, not about swapping brands because the share register changed.
