Privacy notice
How Automation One collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our website or contact our Vancouver team.
How we handle information
Automation One Business Systems Inc. (“Automation One,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This page describes, in plain language, how we handle information when you use automationone.ca, call or email us, or submit a form on our site.
What we collect
Depending on how you contact us, we may collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and details about your equipment or service needs. If you browse the site, our hosts and analytics tools may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
How we use it
We use this information to respond to inquiries, provide sales and service, process toner or meter requests, improve the site, and meet legal or contractual obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
We may share information with service providers who help us operate (for example hosting, email, or analytics), with manufacturers when needed for warranty or support, or when required by law. Those parties are expected to use the information only for the services they provide to us.
Forms and security
Some forms on this site are protected by reCAPTCHA. Use of those forms is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, or ask us to update marketing preferences, by contacting us at the details below. Please include enough detail for us to locate your record.
Remote Support
If you ask us for help, our technician can connect to your computer with a support app made by AnyDesk (AnyDesk Software GmbH). A session starts only when you run the app and give our technician the code it shows, and you can end it at any time.
During a session our technician may see what is on your screen, which can include personal information about you or other people. We view or access only what we need to fix the problem you asked about, and we ask you before we open, copy, or change any files.
Remote Support sessions are recorded. We keep recordings secure, limit access to the staff who need them, and use them only in connection with the support you asked for. AnyDesk connects sessions for us under its own terms and privacy policy, and information about a session may be stored or processed outside Canada. We remain responsible for the personal information we handle during a session.
Privacy Officer and complaints
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information. You can reach the Privacy Officer at info@automationone.ca or by mail at the address below.
If you have a question or concern about how we have handled your personal information, please email info@automationone.ca and tell us what happened. We will look into it and reply to you in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
